The way your building looks can attract or repel. When were the doors last painted? Is your entry attractive? Are your hymn books fresh and good to handle? - or is the vestibule stuffed with mouldering old books on sagging shelves with piles of yellowing notices stacked untidily on a scratched and rickety table with a dull chenille cloth? Would a stranger
want to come in?

Make your building welcoming and comfortable. When it was built (if it is old) people’s houses were Spartan and largely unheated. Now the vast majority enjoy central heating, comfortable furniture, mood lighting, colour co-ordinated furnishing fabrics. Medieval cathedrals spoke of the glory of God to people who lived in hovels.
