SOCIAL EVENTS
INDEX

Not everyone is ready for worship or prayer. If one has no faith in even the existence of God, why would one pray? No-one is likely to move from a position of rampant atheism to Christian faith in one mammoth jump. Conversion is a most often a long, slow process. We need to have activities where people who haven’t even got to the point of searching for a deeper significance to life will feel welcomed and accepted.

Invite your non-Christian friends along to events which won’t make them feel uncomfortable or threatened. Have social events which reflect your joy in the Gospel and your unity in Christ. - concerts, dances, coffee mornings, lunches, themed evenings and meals, treasure hunts, activity days, challenges, BBQs, informal worship on the beach, sandcastle competitions. This will help you build up good relationships within the church too. A church which feels united and happy and special - and values its identity - is a church which people will be attracted to.
